My childhood.

Today in math I was daydreaming about my childhood (I guess I'm sort of still in childhood. I'll call what I'm in teenage-hood). I remembered how I wore my socks when I got baptized and how I knocked my head on the bottom of the font. I also remembered the first time I watch Beauty and the Beast and I didn't watch it for years after that because I hated the part where the Beast gets mad at Belle's dad for sitting in his chair. I call those days the "good 'ol days".

Wow, its amazing when you think of your childhood and all these moments pop up in your head. Like eating a whole box of Otter-pops the day before my best friend Kristan moved. Or "Kids News", "Lightsaber training", and the superior "older" kids (meaning me and Tanner) teaching the littler kids how to safely go down the hill in the wagon Kevin modified. He replaced the slow big black wheels and installed rollerblade wheels. It is the fastest wagon on the the block.

Wow, I have too many memories to put down.

Sorry about all the pictures. I just have to have a lot of pictures with each post. It makes me feel accomplished. Speaking of accomplished, I asked my Facebook buddies if folding paper hearts could be considered as an accomplishment. Never mind. Onto memories.

I'm the short one.

I remember this day like it was yesterday. Except I don't remember Kristan being there... Heres how it went. Maria was making prayer rocks. You stick them in your pillow and when you lay down at night they remind you to say your prayers. I don't remember why, but I was having a tantrum because I wanted my prayer rock to be "Mulan lipstick red". This picture must have been taken after the tantrum because you can see my rock painted Mulan lipstick red at the bottom of the picture.

I loved this dress. I wish my mom would make me another one. I was picking cherries off our cherry tree so we could make pies.

My best friend Kristan and I. Let me tell you a story about these dresses. My mom made 3 pairs of dresses. One pair was pink with 3 little pink rhinestones on the bodice. Another pair was blue and white with sheer white fabric over the skirt. These also had 3 little clear rhinestones on the bodice. The last pair is shown above. For some reason 3 dresses out of the 3 pairs were missing one rhinestone. You can see that in the picture. I was pretty bossy as a kid and I always made Kristan wear the one with 2 rhinestones. Don't worry, I've gotten over that bossiness.

I love being the favorite Auntie.
One of my best memories is listening to my mom sing at various events. Peach Days, at the County Fair.
Church history trips. I love 'em. We went to the Library of Congress and had to take a picture of me there. I love books.

I think both my parents and my sister Maria highly dislike this parisol . I think it is made out of papyrus? I don't know. Anyway, it smelled. Its pretty, but it smells. When we got home from our trip (we were in Hawaii) they made me keep it in the garage for a year. Literally.

The water was so warm... way different from the water in California.

We also went to Palmyra. We went to the Sacred Grove, it was so beautiful! We also went to the temple near there and looked out a window overlooking the Sacred Grove. We even did baptisms for the dead. Defiantly the best church history trip.

I loved this boat. Its called The Maid of the Mist. It takes you right to the edge of the falls. You get so drenched. Luckily they gave you ponchos to wear.

I think the church history, US history, whatever history gets to our heads after awhile. That's why we take the pictures below.

I don't think I thought much of where we were going when I got dressed. I wore a shirt that states: CTR, Choose The Right, to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Ironic, eh?

When we got our new computer, it came with Photo Booth. It is so fun. For awhile I was taking pictures like the one below. That is one good memory that I would prefer not to explain. It would put me in a position that would make you think I am cookoo.

Some of my best memories started when my nieces and nephews started coming! Up above is my niece lounging by the pool. Good flexibility is nice to have if you are going to be a dancer.

Aw...

Anyways, I am sick. I have a bad cough and a stuffy nose. I'm just glad its a mucus-y cough. Thats more satisfying than a dry cough. I think being sick kills my thinking correctly brain cells. On Saturday we had a stake dance. They decided to play that dumb tie game where all the guys place their ties in the middle of the room and the girls have to go pick one up. Then they take the tie back to the owner and have to dance with them. While I was dancing with my guy (more like swaying, why can't there be good 'ol swing dancing?) I started babbling on about bubbles and fog machines. Great conversation. I felt really dumb afterwards.

Tonight at the dinner table we had cheesy macaroni with hamburger. It also had tons of paprika in it. I was picking at it and said:
Megan: "I don't like hamburger, it reminds me of mushed up brains."
My dad proceeded to say:
Dad: "You've never had brains... meaning you've never eaten them."

Ha.

After I stopped giggling, I chewed on bits of hamburger because my mom said I needed my protein. I think when you eat ground beef, the tendency to chew like a cow transfers into your blood stream. Actually, I think you have to chew like a cow when you eat ground beef. Thats kind of ironic.

{Friday}

My friend Wanda, her sister and I went to a salon and got manicures. I'm not one for those kind of things but I thought I would give it a try. I don't really like nail polish on my fingernails. I think it looks weird. I'm still trying to get used to it. We had a lot of fun!

Wanda

My fingernail polish even matched the upholstery in Wanda's van!

We were so scared to touch anything that might ruin the polish.

We then went to Ross and tried on ridiculous shoes.

Then we went to Arby's and had a good meal.

I introduced Wanda to mozzarella sticks. She loved them.

They are my favorite food (should I say food? I'll say junk food) in the world. I couldn't resist having some. Don't worry, when I got home I took my dairy digest.

Happy day, I finally got a good picture of myself.

I hate being sick. I have a bad cough and a stuffy nose. I am happy that its a cough that makes that mucusy noise (I know, weird. But its better than dry coughs that don't do anything). I have also been sneezing constantly.

And that is what I have to say for the day (Ha. That rhymed.)

Footwear.

Warning: This post is utterly useless and long.
(Also, I am in love with the color green. So there will be a lot of it.)

I wrote this post entirely out of boredom. Actually I can't even remember why I decided to do this post. Hm... Anyway. Shoes, they've been around for a long time.

Some really random facts about shoes:

- The earliest known shoes date from about 8000 to 7000 BCE.

- Until around 1800, shoes were made without differentiation for the left or right foot.

- In the Middle East, parts of Africa, Korea and Thailand, it is considered rude to show the soles of the feet to others (even accidentally, such as by crossing the legs).

-Shoe throwing is a great insult in some areas in the Middle East and in India.

- In Thailand, it is an extreme insult for the foot, socks, or shoes to touch someone's head or be placed over it.

- In literature and film, an empty shoe or a pair of shoes signifies death.

And there you have it. I was looking through my closet the other day and realized that I have a lot of shoes. So I decided to take pictures of all of them. My dad took most of them, but then he went to Salt Lake so I had to resort to bending and twisting to get a good shot of my shoes.

You tend to gather up a lot of shoes in your closet when your shoe size doesn't change in four years.

Now be prepared to be bored (you can pick whatever emotion you want to feel) with my vast amount of shoes.

I will amuse myself by naming the shoes. I'm in a strange mood today.
(My mom suggested that I put asterisks by the pictures that I took myself. I guess I will do that.)

(I feel so graceful and ready to dance when I put these on.)

Splashing in Puddles
(I begged my parents for years to get me galoshes. I didn't really need them because we've been in a drought for as long as I can remember. My mom finally gave in and bought me some.)

Whew. That took a lot of energy.

I love shoes. I think I always will.

Lucky me, I have mastered the art of walking in high heels. The secret? Don't step carefully, it makes you look pained and uncomfortable. The first time I wore One Two Three Wobble, my friend said that it looked like I was having a difficult time walking. Then she asked me if something was wrong with my knees...
Just let your legs swing. If you trip, blame it on the defective carpet.

And... I have nothing else to say. Over 32 pairs of shoes. I have more that I didn't feel like taking pictures of. That is a ton of shoes.

Thank you Dad for taking pictures for me! I love you!

P.S. Why does the end of the school year excitement have to be spoiled with end of level testing? Math testing is the worst.
